Holiness doesn’t demand denial of happiness, only selfishness. Where unhappiness exists in a relationship, I would submit that such isn’t the price of holiness but a sign of sin. It is an indication that one or both partners is holding to the wrong value system, that of self-love. When husbands and wives love each other with agape, they meet the deepest needs God designed to be met in the very manner He intended. The result is a joy that is complete and a relationship where happiness is the fruit of holiness and meaning is the consequence of a loving relationship. Anonymous
About This Quote

Holiness doesn’t demand denial of happiness. If you are merely concerned with yourself, you will be unhappy. However, if you are selfish and only think about yourself, you will never be happy. Holiness requires that we love others as God loves us.

It is impossible to love others deeply and at the same time be selfish. If we love others, we must sacrifice for them. That means denying ourselves sometimes so that someone else can have what they want.
